Summary: I am reluctant to write this review as I am afraid if we want to come back it might be booked. La home of the Elms is a charming farmhouse located at the end of a narrow dirt road nestled between golden wheat fields, olive groves and vineyards. If your desire is to experience Tuscany the location is perfect. Empoli is a short 10 minute drive where you can hop on a train and reach the Santa Maria Novella train station in the heart of Florence in 25 minutes for 10 round trip. Pisa, Livorno, San Gimignano & Siena are all within an hour drive through the picturesque Tuscan countryside. Our hosts, Vito and Kate, provided us with excellent recommendations for dining, shopping, wine tasting and sights to see. Their knowledge of the local wine was unmatched. Their hospitality was exceptional during our week long stay. We hated to leave and on our next trip to Italy we will make it a point to stay with them again.
