We have been fascinated by the landscape and the people of French Provence for 30 years. After countless holidays between Grenoble and Marseille, we decided before 2008 to leave our regular life in the Lower Rhine behind and to break new ground in Provence.
The agricultural and tourist property, La Batie, is located in the middle of the Alps of the high Provence at an altitude of 720 m above sea level.
The property offers a 360-degree all-round view of the higher mountains in the area, which, thanks to their bizarre shapes and the good distance to the courtyard, are in no way restrictive and ideal for hiking.
The farm is surrounded by natural forests, rivers and allows stressed people to relax in no time, which the many recurring holidaymakers on La Batie also enjoy very much.
La Batie was originally a farm that supplied hay, cheese, meat and apples to the surrounding areas for over 250 years. Even today we strive to preserve the tradition and cultivate fields on the southern slope of the area with hay and paddocks.
As a guest in one of our holiday apartments or on our campsite, you can organize your holiday as you wish. Whether you want to forget everyday life in complete peace or experience new adventures every day, there is no shortage of options at La Batie.
On the way to us you pass the traditional mountain town of Sisteron, from where you follow the river "Sasse" on a well-developed mountain road until after 15 minutes you cross the river and you can already see La Batie on a hill in front of our local mountain can.
From here, La Batie stretches over 32 hectares. From the driveway you drive past the campsite, on to the parking lot and is right in front of our holiday and guest houses.
