The house is near Torre Lapillo Beach, which is known for its soft sand and crystal-clear waters. The beach’s gentle slope makes it ideal for children and elderly visitors. At 4km long it is one of the most beautiful beaches in the region. The town offers everything holidaymakers might need during their stay. Supermarkets, smaller food shops and a wide range of restaurants and pizzerias to suit all ages and budgets.
The neighbouring resort of Porto Cesareo also has beautiful beaches and lively nightlife. The town’s weekly market (Thursday) is the best place to find the finest local food, including olive oil and a variety of cheeses.
Further down the Ionian coast, the historic town of Gallipoli (35 minutes) is a very popular tourist destination during the summer months. In Greek, Gallipoli means “beautiful city” and the town does not disappoint. The town’s ancient walls soar over the harbour and fishing port. There is a daily fish market where if you go early you can pick up the freshest catch of the day.
