Suspended between the poetry of the enchanting seascape and the echoes of a significant page of 19th-century history: in October 1808, the Villa was chosen by the king of Naples, Gioacchino Murat, as the headquarters from which he controlled the siege and reconquest of Capri, then occupied by the English, allies of the Bourbons. The King of Naples chose this place because, he had confided to his generals, that he was able to have a better view of the entire sea that embraces Capri, thus being able to follow the evolution of the battle in real time.
