Positive: La Brugere is a very special place. Nothing like it. Everything is far above any sensible expectation. Nobility sits in the walls, from the four-post bed to the fantastic murals in the large bathroom. Serene surroundings, a grand park down to a river, flowing gently. Tranquility, luxuriosity, hiding the rest if the world at bay. Add to all that a very friendly host. Honestly, you can't as for more.

Negative: The place is remote. No bars and restaurants within miles. Good wifi, but no phone reception. You can order a special dinner days in advance, but for lunch and whatever else, you have to drive a long way, to Thiviers at least five kilometers away, so no wine for you.

Summary: Fantastic and inconvenient.
