Positive: This was a rather expensive accommodation by my standards (not for Venice though) but it was well worth it: - Location was excellent: quiet little street, very close to a main square, lots of stores (inc. a supermarket) and restaurants nearby, about 10' on foot to the San Marco square. - The highlight, of course, was the direct view to a canal (a very busy one). I was delighted to find out that the pictures were accurate! - Ample space (the kitchen entrance is a bit narrow but OK), with large living room looking to the canal. A nice bedroom and a beautiful bathroom. Kitchen was well equipped. Nicely furnished also, combining antique furniture with modern ones. - Communication was very good with the owner. Overall, despite being quite expensive, it is highly recommended if you want such a view and experience.

Negative: - We had some issues with mosquitos; I would highly recommend adding insect screens to at least the smaller windows (I cannot imagine how things are in summer time). - Some heavier shades would be appreciated as there was a lot of light in the morning. There was also a lot of noise as the canal in front is very busy. - I should note that although the apartment has access to the canal via a patio door, you are warned not to exit towards the pier as it is not a public area.
