Summary: We had the great chance to spend 7 days in this cottage. The stay was marvelous. The house is part of a small farm located in the middle of fields. 3 fields of lavender are located around the farm and the scent of lavender is everywhere. A small river with a big river bed is 500 meters away. Since the farm is located in a small valley we had only limited access to telephone network and internet which was very relaxing. The small villages “La Bégude” and “Brunet” can be reached in 5 minutes by car and offer postal service, a small market and bars. Big supermarkets can be found in Valensole, Oraison and Riez. A big variety of restaurants is available in Riez. We can recommend to visit the restaurant “Coté Soleil” in Puimoisson which offers very good Pizza and other food for a good price (you should make a reservation). The house was perfect. It is very modern and lovingly furnished in country house style. It offers 3 bedrooms (bedclothes included), 2 bathrooms (one on the ground floor and one on the first floor close to the bedrooms, towels included), a huge living room with a big table and a couch area. A big kitchen with a table for 8-10 people offers a great place for the meals. Beside the kitchen is a pantry which gives a lot of space for food and other things to be stored during the stay. The kitchen is fully equipped (big fridge/freezer, micro wave, stove and oven, big variety of dishes and kitchen equipment, dish washer (including tabs), dish washing equipment and herbs (salt, sugar, pepper, oil, vinegar). Different types of coffee machines are offered (Senseo, Nespresso). A vacuum cleaner and other cleaning equipment is available. You won’t miss anything! Due to the building the rooms on the ground floor are always refreshingly cold. In front of the house a big terrace (approx. 10x15 meters, maybe more) is provided. A grill and relaxing chairs can be used. Via a stairway you can reach a small terrace on the first floor where you can perfectly watch the sundown. During the night you can watch an incredible sky with thousands of stars. The landlords (Sophie and her husband) were very friendly and helpful, but never importunate. They explained each part of the house and gave us a lot of recommendations about the area and destinations for a day trip. During the day Sophie´s parents-in-law are available on the farm (in a separated house) and support you in any way if you should have questions or if you should need anything.
